EpiC DriP

Epic Drip (Epic) – a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina who also spent parts of his live in both Germany and Texas.

Epic began high school at Killeen Ninth Grade Center in Texas which later became known as Killeen High School. The relevance of this high school is that this is where Epic was introduced to Chopped N Screwed music which definitely played a major role in Epic’s sound today. Epic graduated from Douglas Byrd High School in his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina, where his rap personality “B. Nice” originated. Epic was known for remixing songs on the back of the bus to and from school. When Epic wasn’t out playing basketball or working in the family trade of carpentry, he was writing rhymes, recording himself on cassette tapes and gaming of course.

Upon graduation from high school in 2003, Epic attended Fayetteville State University (FSU), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication with a Minor in Speech.  While concentrating on his studies, he once again embraced his passion for music and began using his stage name “Da’Future”. He further honed his musical skills as an intern for the campus radio station, WFSS 91.9 FM and local radio station, Foxy 99 (WZFX 99.1 FM). While at FOXY 99, he got his first opportunity to be onstage with big time artists like Rick Ross & The Ying Yang during Summer Jam 06. It was also there that he was introduced to Adobe Audition recording software which was essential in perfecting his recording process. By the time Epic graduated he possessed a stronger knowledge of studio engineering and was far better equipped for perfecting his perfect sound.

Having this vast knowledge and more time to devote to music, Epic began to apply what he learned to what he loved! Then in 2010, Epic realized he could no longer refer to himself as “Da’Future” due to wanting to be more original and changed his stage name to “Epic Moment”. The name “Epic Moment” was actually blessed on Epic by one of his close friends and co-workers who made beats and was a fan of Epic’s music. “Epic Moment” performed hip hop for the first time in 2013 at “Zero Degrees” a nightclub in his hometown, where he received a lot of respect and was thought to have a New York sound. That really puzzled Epic, due to Epic never even visiting NY before. Epic still embraced the compliment, seeing as most of his favorite MC’s were natives of New York. That feedback launched Epic even closer to reaching his goal.

Approaching year 2018, Epic stepped up his rap skills tremendously. His delivery, his timing, his metaphors, his lyrics and his remarkable penmanship evolved into what we see today as hip hop superstar “Epic Drip”.

In 2020, Epic released his first two singles, “FWM” and “Like Money” on all streaming platforms and online music stores including Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, iTunes and Amazon.

Then in 2021 Epic not only released his first E.P. “Infatuation” featuring three singles “Ballin’ on Em”, “Settle Down” and “My Shawty”, but also begun working on his first official Music video. On January 10th, Epic launched his YouTube channel where he currently posts content for all his releases. On the 19th of January 2021, Epic created his first official website for the soul purpose of being the HUB for his brand, which later launched on February 1, 2021.

“2 Love or Not 2 Love”, Epics second E.P. released on the 22nd of March featuring five singles. This E.P. revealed a more intimate side of Epic that many of us never knew existed. The songs “Be With Me”, “Shawty Bad”, “So Far” and “2 Love or Not 2 Love” all create a totally different vibe than the classic Epic we grown to love. The song that stood out the most on this E.P. was definitely “Da Game 101”, where Epic finally gets played or so it seems. Never have we seen this happen to the Mac himself. On the 24th of March Epic premiered his first official video “Shawty Bad” which has over 6,000 views.

On April 23rd, Epic released his second music video “What U Thank” which was the first single off of Epic’s debut album “I Am Epic”. I Am Epic released on the 30th of April and is still getting spins till this day. Overall, this album is a true work of art.
